About This Special Issue
The advancement of the IoT continues to drive all kinds of devices and systems that connect through communication systems, enabling remote data gathering and interaction. The fusion of artificial intelligence (AI) and edge computing is a pivotal power for the IoT, which pushes the IoT to become more than a collection of sensors. The goal of the network is to move computation from cloud servers to the edge of the network near the IoT devices, which have the potential to generate a vast amount of data that can be then used with AI. Security and privacy issues become a high priority and are a prominent problem to protect the IoT against cyberattacks due to the new application context. All these requirements need to rethink IoT security to build an efficient and secure IoT environment.
The special issue focuses on the following topics but is not limit to:
  1. 1)AI and Edge architecture for secure communication in the IoT
  2. 2)AI and Edge applications for secure authentication in the IoT
  3. 3)Privacy-enhancing techniques with AI algorithms at the edge in the IoT
  4. 4)Access control with AI algorithms at the edge in the IoT
  5. 5)Vulnerability analysis combing with AI at the edge in the IoT
  6. 6)AI edge-based threat model in the IoT
  7. 7)AI edge-based trust models in the IoT
  8. 8)Forensics with AI and edge in the IoT
